Questions & Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Pass Along?

Pass Along is a more human way to find mental health care.

People anonymously share the mental health providers and programs that made a meaningful difference in their lives, helping others begin their search through real experiences instead of ratings.

How is Pass Along different?

Most directories tell you who provides care.

Pass Along helps you discover who helped someone with a similar experience.

Every Pass Along is rooted in anonymous shared experience.

Is Pass Along anonymous?

Yes.

You don’t need an account to share a Pass Along, and we don’t ask for your name or email address.

We use technical safeguards behind the scenes to help prevent spam and duplicate submissions while protecting contributor privacy.

Who can be Passed Along?

Pass Along includes mental health providers and programs, including therapists, psychologists, treatment centers, dietitians, and other professionals who support mental health.

Our focus is helping people discover meaningful mental health care through lived experience.

Can providers pay for placement or recommendations?

No.

Providers cannot pay for placement, rankings, or recommendations.

Every Pass Along is shared voluntarily by someone with firsthand experience.

Is Pass Along owned by a therapy company or insurer?

No. Pass Along isn’t owned by any provider, platform, or insurer, and no one can pay to be recommended.

Where you get care is entirely your choice — our only goal is to help you find the right fit.

Why don’t I see hundreds of results?

Finding the right care isn’t about having the biggest list.

Pass Along is designed to surface thoughtful recommendations from people who’ve walked a similar path, helping reduce overwhelm and make it easier to begin.

Is Pass Along medical advice?

No.

Pass Along shares experiences—not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Every person’s journey is different, and choosing a provider is always a personal decision.

Why was Pass Along created?

Like many people searching for help, I found myself asking the same question:

“Do you know someone who could help me?”

The best guidance was always coming from conversations with people who’d been there—but those conversations disappeared into text messages, Facebook groups, Reddit threads, and phone calls.

Pass Along was built to preserve those moments and make them easier to pass along.

How can I help?

If a mental health provider or program made a meaningful difference in your life—or the life of someone you love—anonymously Pass Along their name.

Your experience could help someone else find the right care.
